Community Safety

Working to keep neighborhoods secure and welcoming.

Traffic Solutions

Improving flow and safety on our city streets.

Local Support

Backing families and businesses with common sense policies.

Neighborhood safety

I firmly support strong police presence to keep neighborhoods safe.

Do you support defunding?

Defunding the police is not in my vocabulary; I want more officers visible.

How should police engage?

Police should be more involved with the community, like handing out trading cards to kids. Do you remember police trading cards? When I was a kid we all collected them much like we collected baseball cards. We grew up viewing officers as friends and protectors. We still do to this day. Seeing a police car in the neighborhood was as thrilling as seeing the ice cream man. Ok well not quite the same.

Does police presence reduce crime?

Many studies show police presence lowers crime without moving it elsewhere.

Safety improves when police are visible and actively engage with residents.

How do you remember police from childhood? Please let me know!

Property Taxes

Two words: too high. Any property owner in District 6 knows all too well how high our property taxes have risen.

Between 2002 and 2024 Fort Worth's total property taxes grew by an estimated 295%! At this rate families will be priced out of their very own homes. That is not acceptable.

Do you know how your property taxes are calculated? Fort Worth uses what is called a "Mass Appraisal System". This is a method of valuing a large number of properties at once using standardized procedures and statistical models. Basically the value of your home is based on property you don't even own!

Property taxes should be based on the purchase price of your property at the time of purchase for the life of ownership of that property. Your property taxes remain the same as long as you own your home. Regardless of any improvements you make. Regardless of "market value". Regardless of the value of a home two streets over. Regardless of anything but your purchase price. The property tax can be re-evaluated and adjusted when you sell your property and a new individual(s) takes ownership.

Property taxes don't just affect property owners. They affect renters as well. When property taxes rise landlords raise the rent to compensate. When property taxes are lowered renters may not get a rent decrease but they can certainly expect the rate at which their rent will rise will decline significantly.

Trash Service

Are you aware that the city of Fort Worth charges $19.50 per month for a 64 gal. trash can? The same trash can is priced at about $100. I prefer residents of Fort Worth have the option to continue to rent a trash can at the cost of approximately $234 a year or purchase a trash can for around $100.

Water Service

Did you know that Fort Worth has three different prices for water usage? You are charged a higher price once you reach a specified level of usage. Families are being financially punished for actually having a family. This tiered pricing structure is designed to encourage conservation. I’m for conservation, voluntary conservation. Not conservation that is forced via an individuals bank account.

Are you "Fee'd" up?

Are you tired of all the "fees" added to every bill you pay? For Fort Worth Water, Sewage, & Trash there are 2 "service charges". A "Garbage Sales Tax" (I'm still not sure what garbage I'm buying that would constitute a sales tax). A utility fee and an environmental fee. All of these "fees" add up to about $300 a year for our household. I'm fee'd up.

As a member of the Fort Worth City Council I can't promise I could eliminate nor even lower these fee's. What I can promise you is that if elected I will NEVER vote to approve a raise of any existing fee's or voting to approve any new ones.
